Heat pumps are both energy efficient and increasingly carbon neutral, which is why they are a key part of the EU’s strategy to decarbonise its building sector.
The heat pump sector is also a source of income and of employment and data shows that the heat pump market is expanding in Europe.
This is an opportunity for the EU to develop a strong and competitive domestic heat pump industry.
In order to achieve this goal, adequate measures are required in order to:
- Support the deployment of heat pumps in collective housing;
- Support the development of heat pumps using fluids with a low climate impact;
- Support for the establishment of means of production of key components for PACs on European territory;
- Support for the training of installers.
